blueband, growing up, I'm sure most of you craved to be part of a Coca-Cola, Dettol or Blueband advert.
Remember that advert song, "step by step day by day...B without BB is like a train without an engine” really loved this blueband advert.
If I may ask, "na hiyo BB ya kitambo mbona ilikuwa tamu kuliko za nowadays?" Well, recently, the Blue band Margarine celebrated its 60 years in the country.
It was at this time when many knew the identity of a teen boy who was featured in Margarine's advert. It was in 1984 during the Blue Band Margarine Campaign in Kenya, that an unknown, smiling 11-year-old Chris Kamau (now 45) became a household image in East Africa by appearing on the Blueband tin holding a slice of bread with the popular spread.
According to his photos, you can tell that he was indeed a happy boy as his smiling face could be seen. He used to act at the local drama show of Maria that used to air on Citizen TV.
He portrayed the character of a rich man by the name Of, Dennis who was alleged to be the father of Silas.
Chris was born in Kenya. It is here where he got a chance of becoming popular through the advert. He partially grew up in Europe. He studied Media and Entertainment in New York. He is 47 years old. Chris is the Chairperson of Kenya's Actors Guild. Apart from acting, he is a musician, songwriter, stand up comedian, and producer.
If you love watching local shows such as Taharuki, Sumu la penzi, and Ogas I'm sure you must have seen him displaying his character roles in the drama shows. He is one of the celebrated people in the entertainment industry.
