Yahoo Mail, one of the world’s high traffic giant is experiencing outages globally with problems ranging from mail users unable to log in, read email, delete mail, share mail, and post mail.
Yahoo has over the past two weeks which became highly noticeable with nearly ten million emails affected has continued to rectify the problem on an going basis.
Nigerian users of Yahoo Mail has started witnessing this problem from Friday 24th August.
Meanwhile, Yahoo has issued a global fraud alert.
“Scammers are attempting to rip off consumers by offering fake support for Yahoo Mail. Yahoo will never charge for support. If you have paid for support, contact your financial institution to report the charge as fraudulent. Also, make sure to review your Yahoo account’s security.”
Daily Courier Nigeria investigated the matter and wish to provide s workaround advisory to solve the problem. From our technical troubleshooting we discovered that installing the app on android and Apple phones and logging in to your email through the authentic Yahoo app was 100% successful in all cases. However attempt to set up email access using any browser or Google mail app failed 100%.
