What Is Abbreviation Of O.K?

What is abbreviation of O.K?

Okay (OK) is a colloquial English word denoting approval, acceptance, assent, or acknowledgment. OK is most likely short for “Oll Korrect,” a jokey misspelling of “All Correct” that needs a little historical context to make sense.

There's virtually no definitive answers but among the best are:

It comes from the fecetiously spelled phrase oll korrect

It comes from a presidential campaign slogan for Andrew Jackson - vote for Old Kinderhook.

It was a Choctaw Indian word.

It was a West African tribal word of slaves - waw-keh

All of these are from the early nineteenth century.

There is a well documented craze in Boston from the early 1800s that they liked to use abbreviations. Some documented examples are SP for Small Potatoes, NG for No Good and OW for Oll Wright. So it seems possible it could morph to Oll Korrect.

The word OK came from the USA, and is probably an abbreviation of orl korrect, a jokey spelling of 'all correct', that was used as a slogan during the presidential re-election campaign of Martin Van Buren (1782–1862) in 1840. It was reinforced by the initials of his nickname Old Kinderhook, derived from his birthplace.

O.K does not have an abbreviation. It is an abbreviation itself, and its full form is “Okay”

A more likely explanation is that the term originated as an abbreviation of orl korrekt , a jokey misspelling of 'all correct' which was current in the US in the 1830s

I faintly remember being told by someone during my school days that OK meant Opi Kritum. Does it make any sense in Latin?

Eight Politicians With N232bn Corruption Cases Working For Buhari’s Re-election

L-R: Yari, Wamakko, Adamu and Akpabio

Eniola Akinkuotu, Gbenro Adeoye, and Jesusegun Alagbe

At least eight out of the politicians working for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 2019 election have pending corruption cases worth N232bn, checks by Saturday Newsproof  have revealed.

Investigation by our correspondents showed that the amount involved in the various graft cases, which are currently pending before security agencies, especially the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, range from N223m to N100bn for each of the politicians.

Some of the eight politicians, who used to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party and other opposition parties, had allegedly defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress to stop the dangling axe of the EFCC and other security agencies from falling on them.

Specifically, the politicians who are currently either under probe or prosecution for allegedly diverting government funds have separately vowed to ensure Buhari remains in power untill 2023.

The eight politicians include the senator representing Nasarawa West at the National Assembly, Abdullahi Adamu; the senator representing Sokoto North and former Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko; ex-Senate Minority Leader and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, who recently defected from the PDP to the APC; and a former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.

Others are the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; the former Governor of Rivers State and Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation in 2015, Rotimi Amaechi; the Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari; and former National Chairman of the PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff.

Abdullahi Adamu (N15bn)

For instance, Adamu, a serving senator and former Governor of Nasarawa State, is one of the President’s allies in the Senate. He is also a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Buhari 2019 Presidential Support Committee.

The lawmaker is being prosecuted alongside 18 others for allegedly stealing N15bn from the treasury through contracts awarded when he was governor for eight years.

His son, Nurianu, was also arraigned by the EFCC in January 2018 for alleged N90m fraud. However, the former governor has been one of the fiercest critics of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

According to Saraki, the former governor has been insulting him in order to get a soft landing.

Saraki had said in July, “I have deliberately ignored the antics of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, especially his constant media attacks on me and the Senate since the EFCC dusted his file on alleged case of corruption and also went ahead to arraign his son in court.”

Aliyu Wamakko (N15bn)

Senator Aliyu Wamakko is in charge of Buhari’s campaign in Sokoto State. A few weeks ago, he held a massive rally on behalf of Buhari in order to prove to the President that Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s defection would be of no effect.

Wamakko, who served as governor from 2007 to 2015, is under investigation over allegations of theft of public funds and money laundering totalling N15bn, an allegation he has vehemently denied.

Spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, had confirmed in April that the commission was investigating allegations contained in a petition against Wammako and that he would soon be invited to defend the allegations.

Godswill Akpabio (N100bn)

The former governor of Akwa Ibom State has been under probe by the EFCC for over three years based on allegations that he  diverted over N100bn from the coffers of the state between 2007 and 2015.

Akpabio was welcomed into the APC by the President himself.

The former governor, who represents Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, recently vowed that the APC would take over Akwa Ibom the way Adolph Hitler invaded Poland.

Akpabio, who on Friday travelled to China with the President is arguably the closest defector to Buhari and has vowed to do everything possible to ensure Buhari is re-elected.

Although he has been grilled by the EFCC, he has not been charged.

Orji Uzor Kalu (N3.2bn)

Kalu, who governed Abia State from 1999 to 2007, was one of the most influential politicians in the South-East during his time in government. After leaving the PDP, he formed the Progressive Peoples Alliance from where he contested and lost a senatorial election in 2015.

The following year, he defected to the APC and has paid several visits to the President since then.

Recently, he visited the President in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, where he was bestowed with the title, ‘Dan Baiwan Hausa’ by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouq.

According to the emir, Kalu was bestowed with the title in appreciation of his “unwavering support for our son, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, Bayajida II .”

However, the former governor has been having a running legal battle with the EFCC since leaving office.

The EFCC alleged that Kalu and the others committed fraud between August 2001 and October 2005. It accused Kalu of utilising his company (Slok Nigeria Limited) to retain in the account of First Inland Bank, now First City Monument Bank, the sum of N200m.

The commission said that the sum formed part of funds illegally derived from the coffers of the Abia State government. The EFCC also said that the accused retained, in different bank accounts, about N2.5bn belonging to the state government, adding that he diverted about N3.2bn from the coffers of the same government.

Regardless of his travails, the former governor has insisted that he will do all within his power to ensure that Buhari is re-elected.

Babachir Lawal (N223m)

The immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, was accused by the Senate ad hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North-East, led by Senator Shehu Sani, of awarding a N223m consultancy contract for the removal of invasive plant species in Komadugu, Yobe Water Channels to his company, Rholavision Engineering in contravention of Section 43(iii) and (iv) of the Public Procurement Act 2007.

A committee headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo subsequently investigated Lawal and recommended his dismissal in October 2017, a year after he was indicted by the Senate.

Although he is under probe by the EFCC, Babachir is among the key figures running Buhari’s re-election campaign in Adamawa State. He also revealed during a recent interview onChannels Television that he still had direct access to the President.

The former SGF has been having a leadership tussle with Governor Jibrilla Bindow over who should lead Buhari’s campaign in the state.

Rotimi Amaechi (N97bn)

Amaechi, who was the Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation in 2015, has been charged with the task of ensuring that Buhari is elected a second time.

L-R: Kalu, Sheriff, Lawal and Amaechi

The Minister of Transport, who is the face of the Buhari campaign, was indicted by the Justice George Omeregi-led Rivers State Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate the sale of state assets.

He and others were accused of allegedly misappropriating N97bn through the sale of the state valued assets.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, had alleged that $150m (N30bn at the time) was spent on Buhari’s campaign in 2015.

Amaechi challenged his indictment but lost at the Appeal Court. Although anti-graft agencies have refused to state if he is under investigation or not, he has yet to clear his name and is still under investigation by the state government.

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Emma Okah, insisted that Amaechi was not cleared by the panel that indicted him on the sale of some assets belonging to the state.

Also, a top official at the Government House in Port Harcourt, pointed out that at the last count on the matter, the former governor had gone to the Supreme Court.

An appeal filed by Amaechi against the Justice George Omereji-led panel was in May 2017 dismissed by the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt.

The Appeal Court had said that the refusal of Amaechi to appear before the panel amounted to self-denial.

But Okah said that the matter was currently at the Supreme Court.

“He (Amaechi) went to court against the panel and the matter is still in the Supreme Court. The state government has not cleared him on the matter concerning the sale of valued assets belonging to the state,” he said.

Amaechi could not be reached for comments, as he did not answer calls to his mobile phone.

A text message sent to him on the matter did not get any reply.

However, a senior official of the Federal Ministry of Transportation told our correspondent that the minister was out of the country.

The official, who also works directly with the minister, stated he (the official) was not aware of the said allegations against Amaechi.

“I have not seen it (the report) and can’t speak on it. However, the minister is in China right now,” the official, who pleaded to be anonymous, said.

Abdul’aziz Yari (N680m)

Yari has been engaged in a fierce battle with the EFCC for over a year following allegations that he diverted nearly N700m which formed part of the Paris Club refund due to his state.

In July last  year, a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered an interim forfeiture of the sums of N500m and $500,000 (N180m) said to have been looted from the Paris Club refunds made by the Federal Government in favour of the 36 states of the federation.

The sums of money said to have been recovered from two firms, First Generation Mortgage Bank Limited, and Gosh Projects Limited, were allegedly linked to the governor.

The EFCC also alleged, in an affidavit filed in support of its ex parte application seeking the interim forfeiture of the sums of money, that the N500m was diverted to offset Yari’s personal loan obtained from the First Generation Mortgage Bank Limited.

In July, the Presidential Support Committee of Buhari 2019 appointed Sheriff as the director-general.

The National Secretary of the group, Kassim Kassim, said in a statement that the conglomerate of about 300 Buhari supporters’ groups unanimously endorsed Sheriff to lead the Presidential Support Committee, Buhari 2019 and not the Buhari’s Campaign Organisation for the 2019 election.

He said groups that made up the Presidential Support Committee were all registered with the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters.

Sheriff and others are under investigation for allegedly receiving N450m out of the N23bn ($115m) bribe allegedly disbursed by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, during the build-up to the 2015 elections.

He has been grilled several times by the EFCC but was never charged. His private jet was also impounded by the commission but later released to him.

Sagay, EFCC react

Speaking with our correspondent, the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), said joining the President’s camp would not save any politician from probe or prosecution.

He said those whose cases had already been taken to court would continue to face prosecution.

Sagay, however, said there was room for plea bargain, an option he said stubborn people would never use.

He said, “I know Akpabio is still under probe and if he is found culpable, he would be invited and prosecuted. For me, the only import of him joining the President’s campaign is that he can be persuaded to make a plea bargain quickly, which everyone is entitled to, but the stubborn ones will not take that option

“As for allegations against Amaechi, he was indicted by a fake and useless judicial panel set up by Wike, who is himself under investigation for corruption. He set up a kangaroo panel, which Amaechi refused to answer to.”

When asked about the Appeal Court ruling which ordered Amaechi to answer to the panel, Sagay added, “he doesn’t have to answer to rubbish. Judges who allow themselves to engage in injustice deserve to be disregarded. Amaechi is innocent. All the charges were trumped up.”

Also speaking with our correspondent, the EFCC Spokesperson, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said joining the President’s camp would not translate to immunity from prosecution.

Uwujaren said, “The EFCC neither closes cases nor clears people. Also, being in the President’s party does not give anyone immunity from prosecution.”

Buhari, who later won the presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress had consistently accused the then ruling party, the PDP of engaging in mind-boggling corrupt practices.

“If Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria,” Buhari had said repeatedly during the build-up to the 2015 general elections.

However, no sooner had he been declared winner than some politicians from the same corrupt party began defecting to the President’s own party.

While some of the allegedly corrupt persons were kept at arm’s length, others became very close to the President, constantly appearing in pictures with the professed anti-corruption champion and sending mixed signals to Nigerians.

SERAP, CACOL react

The Executive Director of Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, Adetokunbo Mumuni, however, said it would be wrong to condemn the President for being supported by people alleged to be corrupt if there was no proof that he had prevented anti-corruption agencies from prosecuting such people.

He said, “Unless you want to tell me that the anti-corruption agencies will not do anything unless they are prompted or unless somebody says they should do it, I don’t want to believe rumours. Allegations must be backed by concrete evidence for it to be substantiated. I don’t want to think that somebody with convincing evidence against him will be prevented from facing the music simply because he supports the President. For example, Kalu still has his case in court.”

Similarly, the Executive Chairman, Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, Mr. Debo Adeniran, said it would be wrong to presume people guilty because they have corruption allegations against them and that the President could not have stopped anyone from supporting him, in any case.

He said, “You can’t prevent sinners from going to a religious place, what you don’t have to allow is for them to take over the pulpit to preach the doctrine of the crimes that they have been committing. From our recent experience, defecting to the ruling party has not, in practical terms, stopped the trial of some of politicians. For instance, Kalu’s case is still in court.

“And as of now, Akpabio has yet to be convicted and until someone is convicted, you cannot say they have committed a crime. Even Kalu, whose case is in court, cannot be said to be guilty of the offence until he is convicted. So, it is a moral question and the moral suasion has its limit.”

But a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Onueze Okocha, said President Buhari was sending a dangerous and negative signal to Nigerians by allowing people with pending corruption cases to work for his re-election.

He said, “The whole thing sends a dangerous and unhappy signal to all of us that the so-called anti-corruption war is not whole. We can all see that only those in the opposition are mainly those investigated of corruption while those in the ruling party are regarded as sacred cows.

“It’s what we’ve always known; there is no effectiveness in the anti-corruption war. Look at Akpabio, for instance, shortly after he was elected to the Senate, the EFCC raided his house and found lots of cash. Now that he has defected to the APC, what happens to him?

“Babachir Lawal, though has been sacked, is still free to walk around. Look at the issue of fake National Youth Service Corps certificate held by Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, all these tell us there are sacred cows in the anti-corruption war.”

Alcohol Producers warn Nigeria 🇳🇬 President(Buhari) Over Band Of Alcohol & Tobacco, Prepare for 250,000 job loss

The Distillers and Blenders’ Association of Nigeria (DIBAN) has advised the Buhari government to halt implementation of the new excise duty on locally produced alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

The association warned that “astronomical hike in the excise duty” will cause loss of 250,000 jobs and investment portfolio of over N420 billion, advising the government to prepare for offshoot.

DIBAN said this during a peaceful protest at the premises of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Lagos.

Stress that they are not against federal government’s bid to shore up fiscal revenue, DIBAN warned that the high excise duty could hurt the economy and result in high rate of smuggling of foreign wines and spirits into the country.

Chairman, DIBAN, Chief Patrick Anegbe explained that the new duty approved for implementation by the minister, translates to an increase in duty from current average of N30 per litre to N150 per litre in the first year and N200 per litre subsequently.

He said this translates to an increase from current average duty of N270 to N1350 per case (carton) in the first year and N270 to N1800 per case (carton) from second year.

“We are also disturbed that the new hike will not only affect the Wines and Spirit industry but also other key sectors of the economy and businesses such as packaging industries, bottles, cartons, labels, cork, glue, Ink, printing, laboratory, marketing, consulting, media, to mention a few”, he said.

“We are particularly worried that our industry investment of over N420 billion is being threatened by the recent upward review of Excise duties on locally produced Wines and Spirits.

“We strongly hold the view that if the intention of government is to grow local industries, imposing exorbitant duties on locally manufactured goods is a contradiction of that objective”.

Speaking, the Director-General, MAN, Mr. Segun Ajayi, said that it was a wrong timing on the part of the federal government to increase the consumption tax without making reference to the prevailing economic conditions in the country.

“The rate is astronomical. This means that there will be 545 per cent on a product that is majorly consumed by the people at the low-end of the market. What you have is raising the hands of the foreign brands. We need to be very strategic because it is a trade issue”.

“If you increase the excise duty because you want to guarantee the health safety of the consumers, you might be doing this in the other way round”.

2019: Ex-INEC Boss, Jega Advises Nigerians On Kind Of President To Elect

A former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Attahiru Jega, has declared that Nigeria was in dire need of competent and assertive leaders.

The former INEC boss said the country does not necessarily need a strong leaders, adding that an incompetent leader who is strong will end up destroying institutions.

He made these points at the 58th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Abuja on Monday.

According to him, “What we require most are the competence and capacity of leaders to take decisions and be assertive in ensuring that those decisions are actually implemented.

“So, we have to be very careful in thinking that a strong leader can really help.

“Just like a weak leader can wreck an institution, a strong leader, who has just that power and courage, but lacks the capacity, ability and competence to lead, can also wreck strong institutions

“Competence of leadership is a very important variable in bringing about the stable political transition, good governance and deepening of democracy.”

Jega further warned that politicians must stop treating elections as a do-or-die affair.

He recalled that a former president once said elections must be do-or-die, an incident he described as most unfortunate.

The former INEC boss added, “We must emphasise professionalism, impartiality and non-partisanship. This is because quite too often, you have good and strong institutions, but once partisanship is introduced and partiality become the norm, as many public institutions in this country, then those institutions would not be able to deliver effectively on their mandates.

“From my experience, I am convinced that electoral integrity is key to stable political transition and to ensuring that there is a framework for good governance and societal development.

“Electoral integrity is not just about the integrity of the election management body. It is also the integrity with which the key stakeholders engage with the electoral process.”

2019: Jang Bids For Presidency, Says We’ll Soon End Cheapening Of Nigerian's Lives

The immediate past governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau North, Jonah Jang, has assured Nigerians that if he is elected President come 2019, his administration will ensure it brings an end to the cheapening of the lives of citizens.

Jang equally said the clamour for restructuring will be addressed in line with the provisions of the laws of the land.

According to the Presidential hopeful, the dreams of the founders of Nigeria were “gigantic, the hopes were huge, but all of them were achievable”.

He stated this while presenting a letter of intent to the PDP secretariat, in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, in the presence of a mammoth crowd.

Jang said, “While we have come a long way, and we have made huge gains in different sectors, we have also suffered many distressing challenges in our nationhood. These distresses need not delay me here.

“Today, Nigeria has increasingly become a deeply divided nation, and the bases for our unity are being eroded.

“We face enormous security challenges emanating from the proliferation of small arms and light weapons, the increased wave of armed banditry leading to the annihilation of complete hitherto peaceful communities, armed communal clashes, religious fundamentalism, armed robbery, insurgency and unhindered kidnapping among others.

“The ideals of the founding fathers of this nation are getting farther away from the people.”

Nigerians ranked 8th most hardworking foreigners in US

Global business magazine, Bloomberg has ranked Nigerians working in the United States as the eighth most hardworking foreigners in that country.

In a 2018 report released yesterday, Nigerians scored 71.0 percent in the list of the hardest and most skilled immigrant groups in the US which was topped by Ghana with 75.2 percent.

Bulgaria and Kenya were ranked second and third with 74.2 percent and 73.4 percent respectively. Other African countries in the report’s top 10 are Ethiopia (4th), Egypt (5th), and Liberia (9th).

This makes Africans in general the most productive immigrants in the US ahead of those from Mexico and Central America, who constitute more than 70 percent of foreign nationals in that country.

Mexico is by far the most common country of origin, but the population of Mexican immigrants in the U.S. (both documented and undocumented) actually fell 6 percent from 2007 to 2015, according to the Pew Research Centre.

The numbers of Salvadorans, Hondurans and Guatemalans in the U.S. continued to grow.

“If we want more high-skilled, hardworking, English-speaking, ready-to-integrate immigrants, it looks like the most obvious place to find them is in African countries where English is widely spoken,” Bloomberg journalist Justin Fox, who came up with the report, said.

The report, developed from the 2016 US Census Bureau American Community Survey, ranked Nigeria 8th among the Most-Educated Immigrant Groups in the U.S.

Nigeria sandwiched between Australia (7th) and Malaysia (9th).

The report put the number of Nigerian legal immigrants in the U.S. at 262,603.

According to the report, Kenya, Nigeria, Nepal and Ghana have the highest number of citizens pursuing higher education in the US after Saudi Arabia.

Immigrants from Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana are near the top in both employment-population ratio and higher-education enrollment, it said.

Buhari govt begins collateral-free loans for 2 million Nigerians

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has launched a new initiative under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), called the TraderMoni, which it said will empower two million petty traders between now and the end of the year.

Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, in a statement on Sunday, said the scheme, which was launched last week in Lagos, would grant a minimum of 30,000 loans in each state of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Altogether, the 2 million mark is expected to be attained on or before the end of this year, with petty traders in Lagos, Kano and Abia states set to be the first set of beneficiaries to draw the collateral free loans.

It said: “In addition to the 30,000 loans per State, States with larger populations like Lagos and Kano are expected to get more than 30,000 loans. Across the country, especially in the pilot states, about 500,000 potential beneficiaries have so far been enumerated.

“In order to identify the beneficiaries, no less than 4,000 enumeration agents have been engaged by the Bank of Industry which is deploying the new scheme.

“TraderMoni is designed to help petty traders expand their trade through the provision of collateral free loans of N10,000. The loans are repayable over a period of six months.

“Under the scheme, beneficiaries can get access to a higher facility ranging from N15,000 to N50,000 when they repay N10,000 within the stipulated time period.

“The goal of the Buhari Administration is to use the TraderMoni to take financial inclusion down to the grassroots, the bottom of the ladder, considering the contribution of petty traders to economic development.”

Gunmen ignore El-Rufai’s Public Apology Billboard, kill 31 in Southern Kaduna

Just a day after Governor Nasir el-Rufai launched a public apology billboard signifying understanding, peace and unity among the various ethnic groups in Southern Kaduna, about 31 people have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The list made available to DAILY POST indicates that 2 people were killed at Ungwan Rimi, 1 was killed at Kitakum, 17 killed at Ungwan Magaji and 11 were killed in Kigam community

An eye witness told DAILY POST in Kidam community that no single house was left untouched while two survivors are currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

In Chawai chiefdom in Kamaru Ward, about 13 people were reportedly killed.

The four communities of Ungwan Rimi, Kitakum, Ungwan Magaji and Kigam all in Kauru LGA were attacked on Sunday with men, women including little children killed while about 46 houses were burnt.

Residents in conjunction with the leadership of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) have compiled a list of lives lost and houses that were destroyed during the attack.

It would be recalled that El-Rufai while unveiling the Public Apology Billboard stressed, “This state belongs to everybody that has choisen to make it a home. Let us respect each other, abide by the law, do our duty to uphold harmony and firmly reject division and violence.”

The Police and the Kaduna state government are yet to make an official statement concerning the latest killings.

Nigerians React To Demolition Of APC Secretariat ln Kaduna

Even though the Kaduna state government through the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency, KASUPDA,  has owned up and given reasons for the demolition of building belonging to Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna-North, some Nigerians have used their Twitter handle to upbraid Governor Nasir El-Rufai over the pulling down of the structure ) being used as APC factional secretariat.

DAILY POST had reported that the office located at Sambo Road, Unguwar Rimi in Kaduna on Tuesday pulled down by officials of KASUPDAdue to none payment of ground rent for eight years.

Shortly after the news broke, some Twitter users faulted the demolition with one of users stating that the development calls to mind instances of demolition that happened in the Federal Capital Territory while El-Rufai was the minister in charge. DAILY POST brings you reactions…

@Habib_Mdk Ganduje was demonized for plotting against RMK’s visit to Kano. I can’t believe the same people that did that are finding the El Rufai demolition amusing. If it was Ganduje now, they would have descended on him.

@NgugiEvuti KASUPDA, not el-Rufai, is responsible for demolition of illegal structures in Kaduna state.

@mkpayakanga Demolition of Kaduna APC factional office, a replication of what obtained in Federal Capital territory, Abuja yrs ago, when under El-Rufai. the present Governor of Kaduna State. This is a slap on the face of democracy. Someone shld answer for it.

@Ecyassin I was a reporter in NTA and El-Rufai was FCT Minister, I was detailed to cover the demolition of Sen Zwingina’s

@whiitetiger THE SURGE OF TYRANTS I condemn the TYRANT Gov of Kaduna State Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai @elrufai on the Demolition of factional office of the APC in Kaduna State led by Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi @HunkuyiSuleiman. THIS IS A Democratic DISPENSATION AND OPPOSITION MOST BE TOLERATED.

‏ @effalixumab El rufai Ordered The Demolition Of That Senator’s Property Bcos Of Internal Party Differences If He Becomes A President Then…..

@Ade_Nurayn Now let’s put the banters and jokes aside, I’m not a fan of that demolition. Kaduna APC is factionalized, the building belongs to Hunkuyi, if I were El-rufai, I’ll do everything possible to stand down & prevent KASUPDA from demolishing it.

@jesugbodofo It is dangerous politics of intolerance for El-Rufai to have ordered the demolition of opposition Sen Hunkuyi’s building that housed an APC faction in Kaduna State

@Ade_Nurayn For those that hate El-rufai or Kaduna obviously because of him or APC, you can have the floor and OD yourselves with the demolition matter.

‏ @RealDearComedy How many buildings will Malam El Rufai demolish before he turns 60 years. As minister of FCT 2000, as governor of Kaduna state 3000 marked for demolition 1000 already in progress none without compesation. How do you describe terrorist?

@olufisa The Espee Retweeted Juliet ‘Kego No Restructure will stop what we just had in Kaduna by El-Rufai, the demolition of Hunkuyi’s house, one reason I say NO to state police.!

2019 Election: 2Face Tells Nigerians Who To Avoid

Nigerian afro-pop singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has told Nigerian youths to stop celebrating political thieves.

2baba told Vanguard that it was unwise for the youths to be celebrating criminally-minded politicians who were only out to loot public funds.

He also said that Nigerians should be wise because some of the politicians were out to deceive them again.

“My advice to the youths is that we should begin to celebrate what is right. We should stop celebrating criminals; we should stop hyping people that have done nothing to benefit us.

“Imagine, someone wakes one morning and suddenly becomes a Senator with a lot of money; people will begin to celebrate him/her even when he has done nothing for his people.

“When you campaign for votes and you finally win, you’ve to have something to show for those votes. So, we need to begin to celebrate people who are genuine and not criminals”, the legendary musician said.

“I hope so, because that would depend on the electorate. I’m hoping that Nigerians will understand that politicians should not use them again; I’m hoping that they would understand that these people will tell their usual stories, but we also should tell our own story this time around”, he said.

“My advice is that they should speak to the people more, they should let us know what’s happening. When people don’t know what’s happening they tend to talk, they tend to argue.

“When we hear something in the news tomorrow we don’t even know if it’s the truth or a lie because the government doesn’t even talk to us; we don’t even know what’s going on.

“And that is a major issue; they should let the people know what’s going on, so, that the people can participate and be actively involved in the governance of the nation. The government should carry the people along”, he advised.
