SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE...

1. *Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes.*
They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds.

*MEANING*; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company.

2. *Eagles have an Accurate Vision.* They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

*MEANING*; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.

3. *Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey.*

*MEANING*; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.

4. *Eagles Love the Storm.*
When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree.

*MEANING*; Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably.

5. *Eagles Prepare for Training;*
They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies/ when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest./

*MEANING*; Leave your Comfort Zone, there is No Growth there.

6. *When the Eagle Grows Old,*
His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.

*MEANING*; We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.

*NEVER GIVE UP,*
*BE AN EAGLE*

Obasanjo Finally Declared Who He Will Support To Lead Nigeria In 2019

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who has publicly been against the Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration, has mentioned that he will only give his supports to any Nigerian who will turn the country’s fortune around for good.

According to reports from Punch, he said this on Thursday while receiving a former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta. Turaki, who is a presidential aspirant, came with a 10-man delegation that included a former governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna. Obasanjo reiterated that he would not rest until the fortunes of Nigeria are “turned around for good.”

He identified the dearth of “qualitative leadership” as one of the major challenges confronting Nigeria, adding that men of goodwill must not keep quiet in the face of misrule. He then called for concerted efforts from the political class towards providing the country with better leadership.

He said:

“Let me say that what is happening here today or what you’re making to happen with your delegation particularly gladdens my heart. You are firming up and stabilising our democracy. Democracy is not a destination but a journey and there is no nation that can claim to have reached the final destination. It is good for us as a nation and our democracy. We have said a lot of things that we have identified about what we need to put right as a country. What do we lack? Why are we not where we should be? We are so divided today the way we have not been before. People are deprived socially and economically. But you know, I have never lost hope.

He said the indivisibility of the country remained non-negotiable. He also accused the All Progressives Congress-led administration of “incompetence” due to its “inability to resolve some of Nigeria’s many challenges.”

While speaking with journalists after the meeting, Turaki said he came to pay respect to the former president and also to intimate him with his presidential ambition in 2019.

He said:

“The meeting has been a very fruitful one. We have discussed openly, honestly and frankly about the current situation in this country and like always, Baba was of tremendous guidance to us. Baba has spoken in his vintage way of speaking passionately about the situation in Nigeria. We believe that our indivisibility as one and united nation is given and it is non-negotiable. We feel that our unity is also non-negotiable.”

Buhari Is Nigeria's Most Incompetent Leader, Says Atiku

Buhari, Atiku

Former Vice-President Abubakar Atiku has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to retain significant individuals in his party was a sign of weakness and lack of leadership.

Atiku, through his campaign organisation, said his attempt to come to power “is to clean the mess that Buhari would leave which has resulted in job loss, poor economy and ranking of the country as one of the poorest.”

The spokesperson for the Atiku Campaign Organisation, Segun Sowunmi, in a reaction to Buhari’s comment while receiving the All Progressive Congress nomination forms, said, “Never in the history of Nigeria has a more incompetent person served in the chambers of the exalted office of the President. No President of Nigeria, politics apart, will speak in such manner. The fact is that freedom of association is guaranteed by all the United Nations’ conventions and the constitution of our country.

“That Buhari has not been able to provide leadership and keep high-network individuals in the APC is to his own weakness and a question of his lack of capacity to keep Nigerians together. We are in the campaign and we are on the ballot. Atiku is attempting to become the President to clean the mess that Buhari caused in our country.

“Buhari has made many Nigerians lose their jobs and our country has become one of the poorest countries in the world. He has divided the country and people cannot move freely. He has made a mess of the economy.

“Therefore, we take his comment as not possibly referring to us. He should speak to issues, development, job creation, restructuring and so on. Obviously, these things he cannot do.”

President Buhari had on Tuesday lashed out at defectors from the All Progressives Congress, describing them as weak and selfish politicians.

He said, "We can't continue to offer traditional education to our children.
"Other countries of the world have gone far beyond the basic education we are teaching and we have to catch up.
"Other countries have gone far beyond the basic education we are offering here and are teaching artificial intelligence but we have to grow."
Shekarau who is the present House of Representative of Shendam/Mikang/Quanpaan Federal constituency in the Nigerian National Assembly equally vowed to evolve strategies to encourage children to go to school to make them useful to the society.

Soldiers Storm Heipang For Arms Search On Request Of Lalong

Breaking News:
There is an ongoing faceoff between military operatives and residents of Heipang community near Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos over an attempted arms search instructed by State authorities.
Sources in the community say soldiers arrived the village this morning attempting to raid houses but have been resisted by the villagers.
The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong yesterday requested that the President, Muhammad Buhari should direct a house-to-house search of local communities for illegal firearms.
The request was last night rumoured to have been followed up with a directive by the Minister of Interior, Abdulraman Danbazzau for communities to be ransacked.
The request and the following rumours sparked tension across the state as locals who have been the victims of Fulani attacks were believed to be the prime targets.

Over 200 Corpses Recovered As Military Launch Search And Rescue Mission In Attacked Plateau Villages

Unconfirmed reports say at least 200 corpses of those killed last night in sustained herdsmen attacks on Central Nigerian villages have been recovered.
Though Police authorities place the figure at 11, the 200 corpses according to security sources were recovered by military Search and Rescue forces from over five villages in Plateau's Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The villages given as Xland, Gindin Akwati, Ruku, Nghar, Kura Falls and Kakuruk all in Gashish district as well as Rakok, Kok and Razat villages all in Ropp district.
According to the source, Xland, Gindin Akwati, Kura Falls, Nghar and Ruku villages were completely sacked by the armed herders.
In Nghar village alone, about 70 corpses were recovered as the entire village was razed down.
Ruku village was equally razed down according to him but with no idea of casualties.
In Xland and Gindi Akwati villages where many survivors were believed to still be hiding in the bushes during the search operation, over 60 people were killed.
"Many people are still trapped in the bushes with no help for food, security, shelter or even medication.
"There isn't anyone to help evacuate them from the troubled area because the security authorities themselves are not responsive," he said.
MKB made contacts with some victims of the attack in Kakuruk village where it gathered that the STF men on ground could only secure lives but not properties.
Several houses including a Church and a top Pastor's house were burnt down in the village with one death recorded, it was learnt.
According to the sources, over 200 people were taking refuge in the STF base in the village expecting evacuation.
Security authorities had since yesterday assured of neutralizing threats before they escalated.
A top STF officer had also reported deploying "heavy reinforcements" to the troubled areas earlier today.
Sources in Xland village had cried that the STF personbel therein had complained of having insufficient equipment to work with.
Sources in the Presidency however say the claims were part of a plan to allow the militant Fulani have a field day, terrorizing the unarmed civilian population to forcefully secure a grazing field.
Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs have been under sustained attacks for the past eight years with nearly 50 villages sacked so far.
The member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal constituency in the Nigerian House of Reps, Istifanus Gyang has described the latest reign of terror in the area as senseless bloodbath.
The Plateau State Government has also said it is deeply pained that "despite concerted efforts which had led to the restoration of relative peace across the state, some unpatriotic elements are bent on disrupting the gains so far made."
A statement by the State Commissioner for Information, Yakubu Dati today condemned the attacks assuring government had mobilised the "full compliments of security forces who are restoring normalcy in the affected areas and the environs."
While his statement was being circulated however, reports filtered in that more attacks were ongoing in unsecured communities even while the search and rescue operation launched by the STF was on.
"They allow the securities to move to one direction and strike again in another direction where security attention is absent," a source in one of the affected villages said.

Convicted Sen. Dariye Seeks Reelection From Prison, Buys APC Senate Nomination Form For 2019

Former Central Nigerian Governor, Sen. Joshua Dariye has joined the race for the 2019 Senatorial seat of central Plateau State from Kuje prison where he is serving a sentence for fraud.
A Nigerian Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gudu, Abuja in June convicted and sentenced the former Governor to 14 years imprisonment for diverting public funds worth N1.126billion.
However, while still serving his term, the Governor of Plateau State from 1999 to 2007 and current Senator representing Plateau Central on Friday purchased the Senate nomination form for reelection under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, sources say.
Pictures of the purchased and filled form emerged online on Sunday showing that the convicted Senator was ready to battle for a third term in the Senate while still serving his jail term.
A kinsman of the Senator who published the photos on Facebook, Shadrach Kopmuk wrote, "Just to notify all teaming supporters of our amiable senator Chief Dr Joshua C. Dariye, that the people's senator has purchase and filled the APC nominations and declaration of interest to contest in the forthcoming APC primary election and 2019 general election to represent the good people of plateau central in the ninth Assembly."
Efforts to reach the Senator and his aides through the mobile phone for confirmation were unsuccessful as at publishing time.
Nevertheless, while the Nigerian constitution forbids convicted citizens from contesting elections, Dariye might be on his way to breaking that barrier.
Close sources say the ex Governor has commenced processes for the appeal of his sentence.
"If he hadn't considered an appeal, his seat would have been declared vacant but it can't be because with the appeal, the case is undecided," one of the sources said.
It is not clear when, where and how the appeal would be formalized.
However, Dariye might be the first Nigerian politician to contest elections from prison cell.
If reelected, he would also be the first Plateau Senator to serve three tenures

Yoruba Story That Will Make You Believe In Doing Good To Humanity

At the time of Obatala, three people came to him dragging a young man with them and said to him: Babalawo, aboru boyè! This man has murdered our father
Obatala: why did you kill their father?

Young man: I'm a goatherd.
My goat ate from their father's farm, and he threw a stone at my goat and he died, so I also took the stone and threw it at their father and he also died.

Obatala: because of this, I pass judgment on your charge of  murder by sentencing you to death.

Young man: I ask for 3 days before you execute the judgment.  My late father left me some wealth and I have a sister to take care of.  If you kill me now, the wealth and my sister will have no guardian.

Obatala: who will stand for your bail?

Young man: looking into the crowd, he pointed Lamurudu

Obatala: do you agree to stand for him Lamurudu?

Lamurudu: Beeni (yes)

Obatala: You agree to stand for someone you don't know, and if he doesn't return you'll receive his penalty.

Lamurudu: I accept

The young man left but after two days, and into the third day there was still no sign of him.

Everyone was very afraid for Lamurudu who had accepted to receive the penalty of death if the man failed to return.

Just before it was time for dinner,  the goat herd appeared looking very exhausted in and he stood before Obatala.

Young man: I have handed the wealth and the welfare of my sister to my uncle and I'm now yours. You may execute the penalty now.

In great shock and surprise, Obatala said: And why did you return after having a chance to escape the death penalty?

Young man: *I was afraid, it will appear that humanity has lost the ability to fulfill promises kept".*

Obatala turned and looked at Lamurudu: And why did you stand for him?

Lamurudu: *I was afraid, it might appear that humanity have lost the will to do good to others."*

These words and events moved the brothers who had  wanted justice for their father's death very deeply and they decided to forgive the young goat herd.

In furious anger, Obatala asked "Why?!,"

They said: *We are afraid, it will appear as though forgiveness has lost place in the heart of humanity.*

I have also forwarded this beautifully translated message and passed it to you in fear that *it might appear that reminders towards doing good has lost place in humanity (eda) if I don't.*

For Olodumare's (GOD'S) sake I encourage you to also pass it on, in fear that *it might appear spreading goodwill messages has lost place in humanity.

Federal Government Finally Suggested To Increase NYSC Monthly Allowance From N19,800 To N50,000

Minister for Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige has expelled reports that the Federal
Government was planning to increase the month to month allowances for youth corps individuals.

Bits of gossip had been overflowing weeks prior that the Federal Government was intending to increase the monthly allowance from N19,800 to N50,000, yet Ngige said there's no fact in the story.

He said in a press briefing in Anambra that the Federal Government wouldn’t increase the allowance of corps members without first coming out with a minimum wage for the Nigerian workers.

“No recommendation has come to the Federal Executive Council on this. The NYSC pay is on the sliding scale; the same sliding scale with the national minimum wage except that there is a top up; what is called top up on the national minimum wage is to make for special transport allowance for members of the NYSC,” he said.

“That is why today, the national minimum wage is N18,000, and the top up for NYSC members is about N1,500 making it N19,500. This is what the Federal Government pays each corps member.

“For now, there is no figure before us as an increment and as a matter of fact, the last Federal Executive Council had mandated the Minister of Youths and Sports to liaise with the Director General of the NYSC so that he can be brought on board for us to work as a team,” the minister further stated.

4 Bank In Trouble As CBN Debits N5.8bn from Account over MTN illegal Funds Transfer.

Contrary to speculation that the CBN might soften the sanctions it imposed on four banks for helping MTN Nigeria Communications Limited illegally repatriate funds, the apex bank has debited the lenders’ ac-counts with the huge fines it slammed on them for the violation, New Telegraph learnt on Thursday that the regulator had, last week, announced that it had fined Standard Chartered Bank N2.4 billion; Stanbic IBTC, N1.8 billion; Citibank, N1.2billion and Diamond Bank, N250 million for allegedly assisting the telecoms giant to illegally move $8.13 billion abroad.

It also ordered the lenders and MTN to immediately refund the repatriated sum. Following the public announcement of the fines, the four lenders had separately issued statements, indicating that they were prepared to engage with the CBN to resolve the issue.

However, New Telegraph gathered from a reliable source at the CBN that the banking watchdog had debited the accounts of the affected lenders with the fines. This means that Standard Chartered Bank’s account has been debited N2.4 billion, Citigroup’s N1.2 billion, Stanbic IBTC’s, N1.886 billion and Diamond Bank’s, N250 million.

The CBN usually debits the account of banks when it imposes a fine or to implement aspects of its monetary policies such as Cash Reserve Requirements (CRR) if such lenders do not comply. In a letter dated September 6, to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Stanbic IBTC, confirmed the development, informing stakeholders that the CBN had debited the full amount of the stated fine from the bank’s account with the apex bank.

The letter, signed by the Group Company Secretary, Chidi Okezie, and Acting Head, Marketing and Communications, Bridget Oyefeso- Odusami, stated in part:

“Following our earlier announcement to The Nigerian Stock Exchange on 30 August 2018, in respect of the penalty of N1.886 billion imposed by the Central Bank of Nigeria on our banking subsidiary – Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc in relation to the remittance of foreign exchange on the basis of certain capital importation certificates issued to MTN Nigeria Communications Limited, we write to update the NSE that the CBN has debited the account of our banking subsidiary with the CBN for the full amount of the above stated fine advised to the Bank.”

The lender further reiterated its position that it has not breached any extant laws relating to Certificates of Capital Importation (CCIs) executed on behalf of MTN, adding, it will continue to provide the CBN with documents and details to support its stance that the transactions on behalf of MTN were not illegal.

When contacted, a Standard Chartered Bank official did not confirm that the bank’s account had been debited, only stressing that the lender was fully cooperating with the CBN with a view to resolving the issue as soon as possible. Similarly, Citibank said in a statement it had sent a detailed response to the CBN addressing the allegations.

Also, while MTN has strongly denied any wrongdoing, the CBN has emphasised that the telecoms company must comply with the directive. In fact, a few days ago, the apex bank dismissed reports that MTN may refund $8.1 billion demand in local currency. Isaac Okorafor, CBN’s spokesperson, said MTN would not get a naira-denominated benefit to refund the $8.1 billion.

He was quoted as saying: “The report is very clear, what we have here is in dollar terms and not naira.” In a related development, citing the CBN’s CCIs allegation, coupled with the report that the Nigeria’s Attorney General (NAG) is seeking payment of $2 billion in taxes allegedly incurred over the last decade by MTN, Moody’s Investors Service has announced that it had placed the telecom firm’s ratings on review for downgrade.

“MTN’s ratings have been placed on review for downgrade to reflect the uncertainty around the potential implications of the recent CBN and NAG announcements on MTN’s credit profile,” Moody’s said.

MTN, whose debt stands at around 57 billion rand ($3.7 billion), has said the CBN’s allegations are without merit and it would hold talks with authorities to defend its position. Moody’s, which already has junk rating on MTN debt at Ba1, said without the refund, demand and the potential tax shortfall MTN would be able to repay approaching debt maturities over the next 12 to 18 months. News of the unexpected tax bill had sent MTN shares tumbling by as much as 7.5 per cent to an almost 10-year low.

This is the second time MTN Nigeria would be running into troubled waters with the Nigerian government since it began operations in Nigeria 17 years ago. In October 2015, the telecoms giant was fined N1.04 trillion by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for failing to disconnect around 5.1 million subscribers from its network for not having been registered as of September 2015, as prescribed by the regulatory agency.

The total sum was based on a fine of N200,000 for each unregistered subscriber. However, after prolonged negotiation with both the regulatory agency and the Federal Government, the company had the fine reduced to N330 billion.

With the resolution mid- June 2016, there was an agreement for settlement over a three-year period. As at last February, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta, disclosed that MTN had paid N110 billion out of the N330 billion, meaning that the company still had N220 billion to pay to the regulator.

Main Reason Why Body Itching After Birth

Why Every time I have my bath, my body will start scratching me. I am a male adult.

Kindly let me know what to do about it?
Peter D (by SMS) this website have been helping!

It is not uncommon to experience a bout of itching after bathing. It may last a short period of time and we often do not give it much thought thereafter.

However, for some people itching after a shower or any other bath can persist for hours but then subsides. For others the itching may be due to some underlying diseases.

To prevent itching, you may need to take shorter baths with lukewarm to hot water. Avoid very long or very hot baths. Soaking in a bath tub occasionally may not be a problem but frequent soaks that are long could cause itching.

A quick shower may be a better option. Use mild soaps and shampoos. Baby soaps and shampoos are usually the safer option. Antibacterial soaps should be avoided.

Always ensure that the soap or shampoo is thoroughly rinsed off. Shower quickly after soaking in a bath tub with foam bath or soap. Scrub gently when bathing. . Dry the skin thoroughly after bathing.

Apart from wiping with a dry towel, also try to air dry the body for a short period before wearing clothes. Moisturize dry skin after bathing.

First ensure that the skin is thoroughly dried before applying a moisturizer. Always use non-scented (fragrance free) moisturizers with minimal additives for sensitive skin.

CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA HAVE FINALLY SIGNED THE CURRENCY SWAP DEAL

IT'S WORTH READING...

IN CASE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND.

I know Most of You don't know the meaning of Nigeria dollars, yuan swap with China.. And why American government is desperately smoothing the relationship with Nigeria.

Soon you will be buying that techno phone you bought at N80,000 for N12,000.

The Central Bank of Nigeria have finally signed the currency swap deal we have been expecting for the past 2 years into existence with the Chinese government.

The importance of this is that since almost 70% of the goods we import come from China and Asia and 12% America why must we use Dollars to transact with China? from now instead of using dollars at N350 to 1dollar to import those goods, we can now buy Yuan at 47 naira to 1 Yuan and import those stuffs directly.

Instead of buying these goods in dollars in China, we will now buy them in Yuan which is 5times cheaper than dollars.

As usual, another giant stride which Print Media, Electronic Media and Nigerian looters will not report or allow you to understand this victory over supremacy of dollars in our daily lives and economic activities.

Up coming reality is that from tomorrow, try to monitor exchange rate. Some of those guys who hoarded foreign currencies to make gains will off load them in order not to have heart attack over their huge loss arising from the currency swap deal with china.

Okay (OK) is a colloquial English word denoting approval, acceptance, assent, or acknowledgment. OK is most likely short for “Oll Korrect,” a jokey misspelling of “All Correct” that needs a little historical context to make sense.

There's virtually no definitive answers but among the best are:

It comes from the fecetiously spelled phrase oll korrect

It comes from a presidential campaign slogan for Andrew Jackson - vote for Old Kinderhook.

It was a Choctaw Indian word.

It was a West African tribal word of slaves - waw-keh

All of these are from the early nineteenth century.

There is a well documented craze in Boston from the early 1800s that they liked to use abbreviations. Some documented examples are SP for Small Potatoes, NG for No Good and OW for Oll Wright. So it seems possible it could morph to Oll Korrect.

The word OK came from the USA, and is probably an abbreviation of orl korrect, a jokey spelling of 'all correct', that was used as a slogan during the presidential re-election campaign of Martin Van Buren (1782–1862) in 1840. It was reinforced by the initials of his nickname Old Kinderhook, derived from his birthplace.

O.K does not have an abbreviation. It is an abbreviation itself, and its full form is “Okay”

A more likely explanation is that the term originated as an abbreviation of orl korrekt , a jokey misspelling of 'all correct' which was current in the US in the 1830s

I faintly remember being told by someone during my school days that OK meant Opi Kritum. Does it make any sense in Latin?
